# Main window toolbars

> Reference for the main window toolbars — scan, batch type, batch editing, image editing, and navigation.

## Scan and send tools

The buttons on this toolbar perform the basic operations: scanning, stopping scanning, and exporting scanned documents.

| Command | Description |
| :- | :- |
| **Scan Pages** | Starts scanning with the last-used scanner source. To pick a different scanner, click the arrow next to the button and use [Select and Scan](/vantage/documentation/scanning-station/interface/select-and-scan). |
| **Stop Scanning** | Stops the scanning process. This button replaces the **Scan** button when scanning is in progress. |
| **Send to Vantage** | Exports the documents to ABBYY Vantage (hover the button to see the destination name). Click the arrow next to the button for two options: <br />• **Send to Vantage...** — sends the batch immediately.<br />• **Export Options...** — opens the **Send to ABBYY Vantage** dialog box to pick export options first. ## Batch type tools

The buttons on this toolbar select a batch type, display its properties, and filter the [Batches](/vantage/documentation/scanning-station/interface/batches-window) window by type.

| Button | Description |
| :- | :- |
| **Selected Batch Type** (drop-down list) | Selects a batch type and makes it current. The default batch type is **Unsorted**. |
| **Batch Type Properties** | Opens the [Batch Type Properties](/vantage/documentation/scanning-station/interface/batch-type-properties-dbox) dialog box, where you can view and edit the settings of the selected batch type. Unavailable for **Unsorted** batches — to view default options, choose **Tools > Options...** |
| **Show Batches of Selected Type** | Displays only the batches of the current type in the Batches window. |

  This toolbar is hidden if there are no user-created batch types.

## Batch editing tools

The buttons on this toolbar make changes to the structure of a batch.

| Command | Description |
| :- | :- |
| **Create New Batch** | Creates a new batch of the current type. The name follows the batch naming rule on the batch type. See [Create a new batch](/vantage/documentation/scanning-station/operator/create-batch) and [Rename a batch or document](/vantage/documentation/scanning-station/operator/working-with-batches#rename-a-batch-or-document). |
| **Create New Document** | Creates a new document in the current batch from the selected pages. The name follows the document naming rule on the batch type. See [Create a document](/vantage/documentation/scanning-station/operator/working-with-batches#create-a-document). |
| **Disassemble Document** | Disassembles a document: the pages return to the current batch and the document is deleted. |
| **Delete** | Deletes the selected items. |

## Image editing tools

The buttons on this toolbar allow you to edit images.

| Command | Description |
| :- | :- |
| **Show Processing Profiles** | Opens the Processing Profiles window. See [Processing profiles](/vantage/documentation/scanning-station/operator/processing-profiles). |

## Document navigation tools

The buttons on this toolbar allow you to navigate between documents.

| Command | Description |
| :- | :- |
| **Go to Previous Document** | Moves the selection to the previous document. |
| **Go to Next Document** | Moves the selection to the next document. |
